MAXI-LOAD® HELPER COIL SPRINGS
THE SOLUTION FOR LIGHT COMMERCIAL VEHICLES WITH COIL SPRING SUSPENSION ON THE REAR AXLE
Many small light commercial vehicles (e.g. Fiat Doblo, Ford Fiesta Van, etc) typically between 2 tons - 3 tons total weight, have coil springs on the rear axle instead of leaf springs. In such cases a helper coil spring, also known as auxiliary spring or spring assister can be mounted inside the original coil springs. They help the original spring to carry the total weight and improve vehicle driving comfort, steering, traction and safety. When vehicle is empty, you do not feel any difference in driving but as weight is added the helper springs engage and prevent the vehicle from sagging.
MAXI-LOAD® HELPER COIL SPRING INSTALLATION
For certain vehicles, installation can be done in 30 minutes without removing the factory coil spring. For other vehicles the factory coil spring has to be disassembled from the axle and the helper coil spring can be inserted inside the factory spring. After this procedure the complete set will be installed on the axle. Estimated installation time is 60 minutes.
Sometimes, due to the design of the rear suspension, or due to higher load (in case of commercial vehicles), a new, reinforced replacement spring is the best solution. These reinforced coil springs are also included in our product range for certain vehicles.
